Bagged or bagless vacuum cleaning?

Bagged-Vs-Bagless

Bagless vacuum cleaners are by far the most popular choice. They’ve evolved over the last century and most people seem to prefer them. However, this doesn’t mean bagged vacuum cleaners are any less impressive- it’s a matter of preference and knowing the advantages of both can ensure you choose a vacuum cleaner that’s right for you.

Bagless vacuum cleaners

Bagless vacuum cleaners are a popular choice, and preferred by many. They’re environmentally friendly because you don’t have to buy any fiddly bags that create more waste. They simply empty into the bin and can be washed and re-used over and over again. This will also save you money, as the cost of bags can add up. You may be shocked to discover just how much you’d spend on vacuum cleaner bags throughout the years.

One of our favourite things about bagless vacuum cleaners is that you can see when it fills up, this is not only satisfying, giving you a sense of cleanliness and accomplishment, but it also ensures suction will not be lost because you can see when it needs emptied. This is key in order to maintain performance with each and every use.

 Bagged Vacuum cleaners

The traditional bagged vacuum cleaner is becoming less and less popular due to the popular bagless invention. However, this doesn’t mean they don’t have great benefits that could make them perfect for you and your home. A lot of bagged models are also multi-functional and can wash carpets too.

Bagged models tend to have larger dust capacities than bagless. So if you have a large home, or are always cleaning, then maybe a bagged model is the right choice for you. Some bagless designs hold very little dirt compared to bagged vacuum cleaners.

The other great thing about bagged models is that they don’t expose dust when emptying, unlike some bagless models. Although bagless models are easy to empty, it’s sometimes inevitable that dust will escape, making them a bad choice for allergy sufferers. You need to be careful not to spill any dirt or dust when emptying; however you could alternatively empty the canister outside. This isn’t always ideal though.  Bagged machines don’t expose dust when emptying. They simply tie and can be popped in the bin in no time.

Bagged vacuum cleaners are also low maintenance. There’s little cleaning of filters and canisters required and they only have to be replaced about once or twice a year depending on how often you use it. So if you hate cleaning, and don’t want to have to clean your vacuum cleaner, then a bagged model could be your best option!
